Inside a Japanese Zen garden there is harmony not only in shapes but also in colors. And searching for perfection, some Japanese masters controlled even the light shining and reflections…


For example, look at this wall from Ryoan-ji, Kyoto, colored in brown by mixing the clay with rapeseed oil. Thus, the surface of the wall absorbs the light reflections from the white sand, creating at the same time a neutral, eye pleasing background…
